What is the EFFECTIVENESS of ozone?
- Technically the strongest oxidant and disinfectant (second only to fluorine). Attacks directly surface of micro-organisms & destroys the cell wall and membrane. The cells crack and lose their cytoplasm, can no longer reactivate.
- O3 has oxidation potential of 2.07 eV, 20 times more efficient than chlorine.
- Ecological, no toxic secondary products arise from O3 usage. Only Oxygen.
O3 has been used successfully for 100 years in drinking & waste water treatment.
